Media reports have revealed new developments regarding the future of Omar Marmoush, a player for England's Manchester City, amid Tottenham's pursuit of his signing.
Earlier today, reports stated that Marmoush reached an agreement with Tottenham on personal terms for a contract extending until 2031 (for details click here).
According to "The Spurs Watch" network, citing journalist Paul Kiev, Tottenham has reached a preliminary agreement to sign Marmoush, but Manchester City is not currently ready to finalize the deal until after evaluating the team following their first Premier League match.
Manchester City will face Bournemouth in the opening match of their 2026/2027 Premier League season campaign.
For the first time in 10 years, Manchester City begins its Premier League season without manager Pep Guardiola, who has left his position, with Enzo Maresca currently leading the team.
Maresca previously spoke about Marmoush's future, stating: "I don't know; Omar is still here and still with us. The situation is different from Savinho's case, and we will see what happens. Certainly, we will have more options if some players leave."
He added: "If someone leaves, a replacement must be brought in. Savinho requested to leave from day one, whereas Marmoush has not made such a request—but has he done so now? Not yet."
Maresca's comments come amid ongoing speculation about the potential departure of both Marmoush and Savinho from Manchester City this summer.
