Carrick speaks on the reasons for Manchester United's loss to Hull City
In post-match remarks carried by the British BBC network, Carrick said: "We have some aspects that need improvement; it was never expected that the performance would be perfect."
He added: "Falling behind in the score makes things more difficult, especially against a newly promoted team at their home ground. We couldn't afford to give them many chances, yet they were granted numerous opportunities. We feel disappointed, but this will not negatively affect us."
He continued: "We must keep developing as a team, and we have much to learn from this experience. One match does not change everything, nor does it alter the club's trajectory."
Semi Ajayi scored Hull City's first goal in the 17th minute, before Noble Mendy added the second goal for the hosts in the 38th minute.
