Saudi Al-Ittihad Club continues to bolster the ranks of the first team, in preparation for the launch of the new 2026-2027 season.
"The Dean" seeks to present a distinguished season, after exiting the past season without achieving any titles, whether on the local or continental level.
According to the Saudi newspaper "Al-Jazeera", Al-Ittihad Club has approached reaching a final agreement with Mukhtar Ali, Al-Ettifaq midfielder, in order to bolster the midfield line.
The signing of Mukhtar Ali comes to compensate for the absence of midfielder Hamed Al-Ghamdi, who suffered a cruciate ligament tear injury, alongside the departure of Brazilian Fabinho during the current summer transfer window.
In return, Al-Ittihad Club reached a final agreement with Neom officials to sign left-back Faris Abdi during the current summer transfer window.
Faris Abdi was absent from the friendly match between Neom and Al-Arabi yesterday, Monday, in a move that strengthens his proximity to transferring to the ranks of "The Dean".
The signing of Faris Abdi will come to bolster the left flank, amid the approaching departure of Albanian international Mario Mitaj to Italian Genoa this summer.
Saudi press reports mentioned that the Al-Ittihad administration desires Mitaj's departure, in order to benefit from the foreign player slot and sign a new professional in the midfield.
"The Dean" is preparing to face Emirati Al-Jazira next August, within the playoff qualifying for the league stage of the AFC Champions League Elite for the 2026-2027 season.
