Salem Al-Dawsari, the star of Al-Hilal, is threatened with absence from the Saudi national team in the Gulf Cup competitions.

According to the Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiya, it is likely that Salem Al-Dawsari will be absent from the Saudi national team in the upcoming Gulf Cup tournament due to his need for a month and a half to recover from the injury.
Salem Al-Dawsari, the captain of Al-Hilal, underwent a successful surgery on Tuesday on the site of his injury in the knee tendon.
It was decided that Salem Al-Dawsari would begin his treatment and rehabilitation program at a specialized medical center under the supervision of the team's medical staff.
Al-Hilal had announced on July 10 that Al-Dawsari needs a treatment and rehabilitation program ranging from 6 to 8 weeks.
Salem was absent from scoring with the Falcons in the 2026 World Cup, after playing 90 minutes against Uruguay 1-1.
And the same against Spain, as he participated for 66 minutes against Cape Verde.
The report added that Al-Hilal's management granted Salem and the rest of the international players a special leave for 18 days, after the end of the international participation with the Saudi national team in the World Cup finals.
Salem recorded his 111th international appearance after his last participation against Cape Verde.
He is considered the eighth top scorer in the history of the Saudi national team, with 26 goals.
