Jaime Pizarro, Colo Colo club official, clarified the reason for the delay in the arrival of Vozinha, the Cape Verde goalkeeper, to Chile to join the team.

Some reports linked the player's thinking of pursuing another experience despite reaching an agreement to wear the shirt of the Chilean champion.
Jaime Pizarro, Colo Colo club official, said in statements to local media outlets reported by "Mundo Deportivo": "We have been in contact with Vozinha's agent over the past few hours. He requested some additional time to resolve several personal matters, and we agreed to give him the opportunity to handle those matters".
He added, "We are likely to receive more information about his travel itinerary in the next few hours".
He continued, "He was in Cape Verde, then traveled to Lisbon, where he completed some paperwork and handled other matters".
The Cape Verde goalkeeper was expected to arrive in Chile on Thursday evening, but his trip was delayed for the second time.
For his part, Bernardo Vasconcelos, Vozinha's agent, stated to the Chilean station Cooperativa in remarks also reported by Mundo Deportivo: "A last-minute personal issue is causing the delay in Vozinha's travel to Chile. He needs a few days to resolve the issue. Once it is resolved, he will be ready to travel to Chile".
The agent stressed that the player "has an agreement" with Colo Colo and that "he now has a last-minute issue he needs to resolve".
The veteran goalkeeper will join the Chilean club in a free transfer deal.
Aníbal Mosa, president of the Chilean club Colo Colo, said in statements reported by Reuters: "Vozinha will become a Colo Colo player, will arrive in Chile within days, will undergo a medical examination, and will be presented at Estadio Monumental".
The club also published a photo announcing the imminent joining of the Cape Verde goalkeeper to its ranks.
Vozinha will become the eighth African player to participate in Chilean domestic competitions historically.
Vozinha is preceded by Cameroonian Anthony Oyono, Nigerian Excel Godo, Cameroonian Luc Bessala, Cameroonian Francis Mevoungou, Mauritanian Doudou Touré, Nigerian Felix Abuchi, and Ivorian Franck Ohandza.
Vozinha shone in the World Cup wearing the Cape Verde shirt and led his national team to the round of 32 in the 2026 World Cup.
The 40-year-old goalkeeper will join Colo Colo at a time when his name has also been linked with joining Inter Miami.

Vozinha's last experience was with Portuguese side Chaves, which lasted two seasons.
