According to the "Standard" newspaper, injuries are still hindering Roberto De Zerbi, who admitted that the team's pre-season tour left the squad physically unprepared for the start of the season.
De Zerbi confirmed the return of Savinho after recovering from a muscle injury. Although he came on as a substitute, scored a goal, and provided the final assist in his first appearance against Charlton last week, he was ruled out of the match against Newcastle after suffering an injury during training.
The return of Ghanaian striker Mohammed Kudus represents a strong boost that will strengthen the squad, as he came on as a substitute last week in his first appearance since January. Other positive news regarding injuries has also emerged, after Diogo Jota revealed his return to full team training.
Nevertheless, Tottenham will remain cautious with Jota, who has been out of action for a year and underwent two separate surgeries to treat a complex knee injury, but the 26-year-old player appears to be making progress in his recovery.
Meanwhile, the concerning injury for De Zerbi is the condition of midfielder James Maddison, who suffered a broken shoulder in the opening round against Brentford. The 29-year-old missed the defeat against Newcastle, and his availability for today's match remains uncertain.
In a related development, both Mykhailo Mudryk and Tosin Adarabioyo, who joined the team at the end of the summer transfer window, have been registered in time for the weekend match. De Zerbi confirmed that the Ukrainian is ready to play for approximately 30 minutes against Nottingham.
Tottenham will also be without the services of Brazilian striker Richarlison, who wants to leave, after being omitted from De Zerbi's Premier League squad following his expression of desire to depart the club.
The report noted that Tottenham is seeking to facilitate the transfer of the 29-year-old player, amid interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
