Marc Casadó, Barcelona's midfielder, faces several options regarding his future, amid growing interest from European, Saudi, and Turkish clubs to secure his services. According to the Spanish newspaper "Sport," Casadó has received offers and expressions of interest from clubs in England, Italy, and Germany, alongside proposals from Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Yet, the latter two destinations are not prioritized by the player, who prefers to continue his career within Europe's top leagues.
RB Leipzig stands out among the German clubs interested in signing the Barcelona player, while Real Betis has also entered the race to secure him in recent hours. The Andalusian club highly values the midfielder's abilities, and Casadó himself is keen on exploring the possibility of remaining in La Liga.
However, Bayer Leverkusen's offer carries an additional factor that could give it an edge over other options: the presence of Carles Martínez, the Catalan coach who knows Casadó very well, having been the first coach to oversee his early football development within Barcelona's famed youth academy, La Masia.
The relationship between Martínez and Casadó dates back many years, as the coach worked for four years at La Masia before transitioning into professional football.
Their connection has continued over the following years, offering the player a chance to work once again under a coach who has closely followed his potential and development since his earliest stages.
Martínez joined Bayer Leverkusen this summer following his stint with French side Toulouse, signing a contract with the German club until June 2028 to embark on a new project in the Bundesliga.
Leverkusen's midfield situation could be a decisive factor in determining whether Casadó joins the club, particularly given the uncertainty surrounding Robert Andrich's future. Andrich served as the team captain until this summer but lost the armband following Martínez's arrival.
