Football Association: We are seriously studying hosting the Africa Cup of Nations 2028.. Salah continues to the next World Cup

Hamada El-Sherbini, a member of the board of directors of the Egyptian Football Association, revealed the study of applying to host the Africa Cup of Nations 2028.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the opening of nominations to host the Africa Cup of Nations tournaments in the 2028, 2032, and 2036 editions.

Hamada El-Sherbini, a member of the board of directors of the Egyptian Football Association, said on Mega FM radio: "We are seriously studying hosting the Africa Cup of Nations 2028 to repay the favor to the Egyptian fans, and the political leadership is keen to provide all means."

He stressed, "Egypt is capable of hosting any major tournament, even the World Cup, and currently hosting the Africa Cup of Nations 2028 is at the top of our priorities."

He revealed, "We discussed in the Football Association the possibility of hosting the Africa Cup of Nations 2028, and we have the ability to do so, and pleasing the Egyptian people is our biggest motivation to work."

El-Sherbini added, "I extend my thanks to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for honoring us, and that event will remain in all our minds."

He continued, "Hossam Hassan informed me of his interest and follow-up on the professional league, not just the premier league, and we are putting forward more than one name to monitor from dual nationals to discuss the possibility of including them in the upcoming national team camps."

He concluded his statements, "God willing, Mohamed Salah will be with us at the 2030 World Cup, and we seek to achieve many successes for Egyptian football in the coming period."

Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda are hosting the next edition of the Africa Cup of Nations 2027.

The African Confederation indicated that the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which bears the slogan "Bamouja," will be held jointly organized by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda during the period from June 19 to July 17, 2027.

Morocco hosted the previous edition of the Africa Cup of Nations.
