Ahmed Gaballa, Al Ahly's team doctor, revealed that Belamri underwent arthroscopic surgery to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, under the supervision of German expert Christian Prall, at a hospital in Munich.

Al Ahly stated that Dr. Alaa Mamoun, Vice President of the medical staff, accompanied the player during the trip.

The player is scheduled to leave the hospital within 48 hours and head to Morocco to begin the first phase of rehabilitation in coordination with the Moroccan national team's medical staff.

Youssef Belamri, Al Ahly's left-back, suffered a torn cruciate ligament during a friendly match against Spain's Badalona during the team's camp in Spain.

Al Ahly played three friendly matches, concluding with a match against Barcelona in the Joan Gamper Trophy, which ended in a 2-1 victory for the Catalan team.

Belamri joined Al Ahly for a period of three and a half seasons in January 2026.

Since joining Al Ahly, Belamri has played 19 matches in all competitions.

Al Ahly secured a victory in the first league match against Sharqia Enppi with a score of 3-2, while they are set to face Zed today, Friday, in the second round.
