Julián Álvarez is facing a very difficult situation with Atlético Madrid, as the player wishes to leave the Spanish capital club during the current summer transfer window and join Barcelona.

Atlético Madrid completely refuses to sell Álvarez to Barcelona, and Los Rojiblancos issued an official statement earlier today confirming that the player will not be sold to Blaugrana (details here).

In this context, the newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo', citing 'Jijantes', reported that Álvarez contacted his Atlético Madrid teammates, specifically the team captains—the trio of Koke, Jan Oblak, and José Giménez—seeking their help to resolve his issue with the Spanish capital club, allow his departure, and enable Barcelona to negotiate with Atlético regarding a potential signing.

The source added that Atlético Madrid coach Diego Simeone informed the aforementioned trio that they could do nothing regarding Álvarez's situation, and that the decision rests solely with the Spanish club concerning the player's future.

Álvarez did not train with the rest of his Atlético Madrid teammates for the second consecutive day due to illness, and the player's situation remains uncertain with only four days remaining until the end of the summer transfer window.

Atlético Madrid's management reportedly intends to sell Álvarez, but only to a club outside Spain, while Arsenal is keen on signing the 26-year-old player.
