Media reports today revealed that Emmanuel Macron, President of France, personally intervened in the crisis of Gianni Infantino and ordered the latter to continue as president of the International Federation of Football ''FIFA'', as he faces massive criticism.
Infantino faces massive criticism following his latest project that he announced, which is his intention to sell part of FIFA's shares to external investors, before this project was retracted after the violent attack faced by the Swiss.
The Goal website reported, citing the newspaper ''L'Équipe'', that Macron contacted Infantino personally to express through this call his total rejection of the Swiss's proposal.

The website added that Macron also contacted Patrice Motsepe, president of the African Football Confederation ''CAF'', to publicly announce his support for the position of the European Union led by its president, Aleksander Čeferin, as UEFA leads a campaign against Infantino and his project.
A source close to the French government confirmed to L'Équipe that Macron is fully involved in the process of opposing Infantino's latest project, and the French president had previously expressed his rejection of the Super League project.
The source explained that Macron's intervention highlights the extent of Europe's concern about attempts to privatize football, and this issue may end with Infantino's departure from the presidency of FIFA or his failure to run for a new term.
The website concluded by saying that Infantino is in a predicament, as voices are currently rising demanding radical reform in FIFA's management, in addition to the demand to reconsider the commercial approach adopted by the Swiss since assuming his current position.
