Hani Abu Rida, President of the Egyptian Football Association, received congratulations from his Australian counterpart for Egypt's victory over the yellow team in the World Cup.
The Egyptian team defeated Australia on penalties in the Round of 32 of the World Cup, qualifying for the first time to the Round of 16 of the tournament.
This came after the end of regular and extra time with a 1-1 draw.
The Egyptian team will play against Argentina in the Round of 16, and the match will take place next Tuesday at 7 PM Cairo time.
The Argentine team had defeated Cape Verde 3-2 in the Round of 32 after the match went into extra time.
