Egyptian national team midfielder Mohanad Lashin believes that the end of the Pharaohs' journey in the 2026 World Cup will mark the beginning of new hope for better participation in the next edition.
The Egyptian national team bid farewell to the World Cup competitions in the round of 16 after losing to Argentina by three goals to two.
Mohanad Lashin wrote on his personal Instagram account: "First, I thank God and hope that the great Egyptian people feel proud of what we have presented".
He added, "Second, I thank our great fans and His Excellency the President for their continued support".
He continued, "Of course, we wished to continue the journey and make you happier than that, but this is God's will".
He added, "I am proud of everyone who was part of this journey; everyone worked hard from day one, and no one spared any drop of sweat while playing in the name of Egypt".
He went on, "Heartfelt thanks to the Egyptian fans who supported us everywhere and made us feel as if we were playing in the heart of Egypt while far from it".
He stressed, "This is not the end but the beginning of a new step. We will benefit from every moment, build on what we have achieved, and the future will be better, God willing, thanks to God and then your support.. Praise be to God always and forever".
