Egypt's path in the World Cup included a 1-1 draw with Belgium and Iran, while it defeated New Zealand by three goals to one, but exited the 2026 World Cup with a three-two defeat to Argentina.

Only three Arab national teams managed to advance from the group stage in the 2026 World Cup: Egypt, Morocco, and Algeria, while the teams of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Tunisia, and Iraq exited the tournament from the group stage.
