As for Egypt's national team, it achieved the best results throughout its history of participation in the World Cup, managing to advance from the group stage for the first time and reaching the round of 16 after defeating Australia on penalties.
Egypt's path in the World Cup included a 1-1 draw with Belgium and Iran, while it defeated New Zealand by three goals to one, but exited the 2026 World Cup with a three-two defeat to Argentina.

Only three Arab national teams managed to advance from the group stage in the 2026 World Cup: Egypt, Morocco, and Algeria, while the teams of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Tunisia, and Iraq exited the tournament from the group stage.
