Egyptian national team midfielder Mahmoud Saber believes that the Pharaohs' positive participation in the 2026 World Cup is just the beginning.

The Egyptian national team bid farewell to the World Cup competitions from the round of 16 after losing to Argentina by three goals to two.

Mahmoud Saber wrote on his personal Instagram account: "In the name of God.. That is the grace from God.. Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, for His grace and generosity upon us. We gave our best and lived up to the expectations of the fans".

He added, "We delighted the fans and were delighted with them. We lived the big dream with you, but it is still just the beginning, and we will complete it, God willing".

He concluded his message to the Egyptian fans: "Thank you for your encouragement, support, and beautiful, joyful celebrations. Thank you for the good spirit and the beautiful atmosphere we experienced together".

He ended: "Thank you to the staff, players, and officials of the national team. I am proud to have been part of you, and God willing, we will complete the dream together".

The Egyptian national team delegation arrives at Borg El Arab Airport in Alexandria on a private plane.

EgyptAir revealed that a private plane took off from Cairo to the city of Atlanta, USA, to transport the national team delegation to the country.

The Football Association announced the renewal of confidence in Hossam Hassan until the 2030 World Cup.

Hossam Hassan took over the coaching of the Egyptian national team in February 2024 and began his journey with the Egyptian national team in March with a match against New Zealand.

Since then, the coach has led the Egyptian national team in 35 matches, winning 19, drawing 10, and losing 5.

The Egyptian national team finished second in Group Seven with 5 points, behind the Belgian national team by a point difference.

In the group stage, the Egyptian national team drew with Belgium and Iran, and won against New Zealand 3-1.

The Pharaohs achieved victory against Australia in the round of 32 on penalties, before losing to defending champions Argentina in the round of 16.
