Turkish club Trabzonspor continues its efforts to finalize the appointment of a new head coach following the dismissal of Fatih Tekic.
Trabzonspor's squad includes Egyptian international star Mohamed Salah.
According to the Turkish website Ajansspor, Trabzonspor president Artugrul Doga held a meeting with Shakhtar Donetsk coach Arda Turan to persuade him to take charge of the team.
The same report clarified that Artugrul has a strong relationship with the former Atletico Madrid star, but his arrival is unlikely as he will be participating in the Champions League with the Ukrainian club.
The same report added that the two veterans, Fatih Terim, former Galatasaray coach, and Senol Gunes, former Turkey national team coach and Trabzonspor legend, are among the options being considered for the role.
