Samir Salah, the players' agent, revealed updates on Ahmed Fathou's contract renewal with Zamalek and explained Tawfik Mohamed's absence from Al Ahly's squad for the Smouha match.
Samir Salah told the "Al La'eb" program on MBC Masr: "Ahmed Fathou missed Zamalek's match because he had a cold; he was in camp, took medication, then left, but he participated in training yesterday."
Regarding Fathou's contract renewal, he added: "John Edward agreed to hold a meeting during the week he departed, but there has been no communication with us since then. The situation remains unstable, and there are no offers for the player; he belongs to Zamalek."

He further stated: "Fathou received an offer from Turkey, which Zamalek rejected. We did not request 40 or 30 million for the renewal as rumored; (God willing, matters will soon become close and easy with Zamalek)."
Concerning Tawfik Mohamed's absence from Al Ahly's squad for the Smouha match, he continued: "He will appear soon. This is the fastest transfer in history, completed within four hours from Petrojet to Al Ahly. The player is a significant addition to Al Ahly and one of the most important transfers. His absence was due to not joining the preparation camp."
Commenting on goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhi's absence from Zamalek, the players' agent remarked: "He had an issue during a match and stepped away. Participation is difficult with two top goalkeepers present, and Zamalek has informed us of their determination to retain the player."
