Trabzonspor President Ahmet Caner Dogan revealed that the team’s new head coach will be a foreigner, while denying reports linking him to several managers, most notably Italian Antonio Conte. He also spoke about the future of striker Paul Onuachu.

In statements published by the Turkish network “61saat,” Dogan said: “It seems the coach will be a foreigner; work is progressing in that direction. We are meeting with several managers, drawing up plans with them, and have requested their reports. We must not make any mistakes.”

He clarified: “We are assessing the situation and studying the available options. The new coach cannot afford to fail, so we are taking this matter very seriously.”

He added: “Many names are being mentioned; Conte’s name is brought up, but I have never met him, and we do not even know each other. Fatih Terim’s name is also mentioned, but he is not on the agenda.”

He continued: “We have managers who have won titles, such as Senol Gunes and Abdullah Avcı, but we are not planning to sign any of them. Arda Turan is already managing a team, so he is not an option.”

Regarding striker Paul Onuachu’s departure and the signing of new players, he replied: “There is no possibility of Onuachu leaving. He is the league’s top scorer; this is completely out of the question.”

He concluded: “Whatever the gaps, they will be filled by all possible means. We may see further developments in Turkey in the coming days regarding transfers, and we will work to fill any existing gaps.”
