Roberto De Zerbi, Tottenham Hotspur's manager, spoke about the situation of Brazilian striker Richarlison, whose future with "Spurs" remains uncertain.
Richarlison had requested to leave Tottenham amid links to a move to Turkish club Trabzonspor, which features Egyptian star Mohamed Salah.
De Zerbi said at a press conference today, Friday: "Richarlison decided everything himself; he spoke with me at the start of pre-season and told me his thoughts and his desire to leave."
He added: "In the end, we decided to sign another striker, and as I said at the start of pre-season, I want to keep only those players who truly wish to stay here with pride and passion. As for other issues, they are not my concern but fall under the club's responsibility."
He continued: "I don't know whether there is an offer from Turkey for Richarlison or not, but I do know there was an offer before the transfer window closed, which he did not accept."
Trabzonspor negotiating with Richarlison
Turkish club Trabzonspor has entered negotiations with Richarlison to sign him, given the player's absence from Tottenham's squad list for the new season and his exclusion from the team's plans.
ESPN reported that Mohamed Salah and Fabinho, Richarlison's former Brazil national team teammate during the 2022 World Cup, contacted the player in recent days to invite him to move and play in Turkey.
