Brazilian Fabinho spoke about his feelings regarding reuniting with Mohamed Salah, the star of Trabzonspor, after having played together at Liverpool and achieved numerous accomplishments.
Trabzonspor is expected to officially announce the completion of signing Brazilian Fabinho, the former Al-Ittihad player, on a free transfer during the summer window.
The Brazilian international arrived in Turkey on Monday morning to finalize contracts with the club, which includes his former Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah.
Fabinho said in statements carried by beIN Sports: "Playing with Salah again is a very special feeling. Besides being an amazing player, and perhaps more importantly, he is also a wonderful person."
He added, "We played together for five years. Despite everything we achieved, he still strives to be the best and gives his all for the team."
The Turkish club posted footage of the player's journey to Turkey while wearing a Trabzonspor jersey.
According to Turkish network A Spor, the Turkish club began official negotiations with Fabinho and reached a preliminary agreement with the Brazilian midfielder ahead of finalizing the deal.
Fabinho became a free agent after ending his stint with Al-Ittihad, having played 44 matches across all competitions last season, totaling 3,906 minutes, during which he scored 3 goals and provided 4 assists.
The 32-year-old player participated with the Brazil national team in the 2026 World Cup, playing 3 matches during the tournament.
If the deal is completed, Fabinho will return to play alongside Mohamed Salah, having previously been teammates at Liverpool.
Trabzonspor continues to strengthen its squad in preparation for resuming competitions in the new season, following the completion of Mohamed Salah's signing and aiming to compete for domestic and continental titles.
