The International Volleyball Federation announced the selection of the Brazilian city of São Paulo to host the 2026 Women's Club World Championship, returning the city to the forefront of the largest global club competitions in volleyball for the fourth time in its history.
The 19th edition of the tournament will be held from December 8 to 13, 2026, at the Wlamir Marques multi-sports hall, located inside the headquarters of Corinthians Club in the Tatuapé area of São Paulo, where the best clubs in the world compete for the tournament title.
São Paulo has a long history with the most prominent international volleyball tournaments, having hosted many major events, including world championships, the World League, the World Grand Prix, as well as South American championships.
The International Volleyball Federation confirmed that the return of the Women's Club World Championship to São Paulo reflects the continuous growth and increasing global ambitions of club volleyball, highlighting the sport's stars, clubs, and fans who give the competitions their special character.
São Paulo is hosting the tournament for the fourth time, after hosting the inaugural edition in 1991, then the 1994 edition, before hosting the latest edition of the tournament in 2025.
The tournament features the participation of 8 strong clubs, competing over 6 days in 16 matches, starting with the group stage, then the semifinals, and the third-place and final matches.
The eight teams are divided into two groups, each containing 4 clubs, with group stage matches scheduled for December 8, 9, and 10.
The top two teams from each group advance to the semifinals, where the group winners face the runners-up from the other group in the semifinal matches scheduled for December 12.
The third-place match and the final are scheduled for December 13, to determine the 2026 Women's Club World Champion.
The 2026 Women's Volleyball Club World Championship features the participation of 8 clubs representing 7 countries, with the list of participating teams as follows:
Osasco São Cristóvão and Sesi from Brazil, Vakıf and Eczacıbaşı from Turkey, NEC Red Rockets from Japan, Nakhon Ratchasima from Thailand, Coronelas de Durango from Mexico, and Al Ahly from Egypt, the African champions.
The upcoming edition sees the absence of Italian clubs from the tournament, after they were strongly present in previous editions, as Italian volleyball will have no representative in the 2026 edition.
Osasco São Cristóvão participates as the host team and includes among its ranks a number of world volleyball stars, including Polish player Magda Stysiak and Italian player Marta Bechis, who won the title in the last edition of the Club World Championship.
