The Qatari club Al Sadd announced the appointment of Romanian Razvan Lucescu as the team's head coach.
Lucescu, the AFC Champions League winner with Saudi club Al Hilal in 2019, signed a contract linking him to Al Sadd for the next two seasons.
Al Sadd contracted Lucescu after he amicably terminated his contract with Greek club PAOK.
Al Sadd revealed the name of the coach at the start of the preparation camp for the new season.
Lucescu, who previously coached Saudi club Al Hilal, will succeed Roberto Mancini as Al Sadd's head coach.
A few weeks ago, the Qatari club Al Sadd officially announced the departure of Italian Roberto Mancini from coaching the team.
Al Sadd thanked the Italian coach, saying: "A short but precious time full of wonderful memories, thank you Mancini and we hope the story continues one day, all the best in your next challenge and we hope to see you soon, goodbye."
Mancini led Al Sadd to win the Qatari league for the 19th time in its history.
Mancini took over coaching Al Sadd after an unsuccessful stint with the Saudi national team.
Al Sadd won the Qatari league title after a fierce competition with Al Shamal, which includes Akram Tawfik in its ranks.
Mancini's name has been linked with a return to coaching the Italian national team in the upcoming period, following the failure to qualify for the World Cup for the second consecutive time.
