Foot Mercato revealed that Al-Sadd has neared signing Moroccan international Nayef Akrd, defender of Olympique Marseille, for one season on loan.
The report revealed that the deal will cost Al-Sadd 4 million euros with an 11 million purchase option.
The report clarified that Al-Sadd's management agreed with Marseille on all details, with only the player's approval remaining to complete the deal.
Nayef Akrd joined Marseille in summer 2025 and his contract with the French club ends in summer 2030.
Akrd played 22 matches with Marseille, scoring one goal and providing no assists.
Marseille finished last season in fifth place with 59 points.
He had stints with several prominent clubs across various leagues, most notably West Ham United of England and Real Sociedad of Spain.
