FC Barcelona, led by coach Hans Flick, continues its preparations at the England camp, as part of the preparations to contest the anticipated new season, 2026/27, which will kick off later this August.
Barcelona headed to England last Monday, where they played a friendly match on Friday evening against Birmingham City and drew two goals apiece in regular time, before losing on penalties.
Barcelona were scheduled to play another closed-door friendly tomorrow, Monday, against Preston North End, before it was canceled due to the English team not having enough players because of numerous absences.
Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that Barcelona held a double training session on Sunday at the St George's Park center, on the Sir Bobby Charlton pitch.
It explained that this session is the penultimate one for Barcelona in England, with the final sessions to be held tomorrow before an early return to Spain due to the cancellation of the aforementioned friendly.
It noted that the available first-team players participated in both training sessions, and new signing Jesse Bisiou continued training with his new teammates as he completed the first part of the evening training session with the group.
It pointed out that, as usual, players from Barcelona, Barcelona Atlètic, and Barcelona B participated in today's two training sessions, and the squad included Egyptian Hamza Abdelkarim, who played in the first team's two friendlies against Europa and Birmingham City, scoring two goals against the latter.
Barcelona will play two friendlies in Italy next Saturday, against Nottingham Forest and Udinese, with one half for each match (for details from here).
