Barcelona's technical director, Hans Flick, made a decision after returning to Spain following the end of the training camp in England, as part of the preparations related to the upcoming new season 2026/27.
Barcelona had started its training camp in England last Monday, and played a friendly match against Birmingham City on Friday, where they drew two goals each, before Barça lost on penalties.
The Egyptian professional Hamza Abdel Karim participated in Barcelona's match against Birmingham, after being taken to the England camp, where he scored two goals.
Barcelona was supposed to face its opponent Preston North End in a closed-door friendly match on Monday, but it was decided to cancel it due to the English opponent not having enough players because of many absences.
Flick conducted a training match between Barcelona players on Monday afternoon, at the conclusion of the team's camp in England (To view the details from here).
The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" mentioned that Barcelona has indeed returned to Spain after a two-hour flight, where the delegation arrived at El Prat airport.
It explained that Hans Flick decided to grant the team's players a two-day rest, Tuesday and Wednesday, before training again on Thursday in two training sessions, then traveling to Italy to participate in a triangular tournament against Nottingham Forest and Udinese.
