The Qatari Football Association announced its welcome of the decision by its international counterpart, following the withdrawal of a proposal to launch a new company to attract investments through the sale of rights to some tournaments.
Infantino had confirmed in the past hours that this proposal would not be pursued, after carefully listening to all opinions, indicating that it had caused some divisions.
An official statement from the Qatari Football Association said: "Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the Association, welcomes the decision of Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, not to proceed with the FIFA Forward Enterprise proposal in a manner that serves the public interest in the international football community".
The President of the Qatari Football Association explained that although the proposal included some ideas worthy of study, he praised the prioritization of the continuity of unity among all member national associations as the immediate priority at the present time, and the wisdom behind this decision.
The Qatari Football Association concluded its official statement by affirming its full support for what it described as the ongoing efforts of Gianni Infantino to develop and grow football around the world.
It is noted that Infantino has faced some strong criticism during the current period, while external press reports indicate that the European Football Association has given him a deadline to submit his resignation from his position.
