Scottish Richard Hughes begins his professional journey with Al-Hilal on Sunday after taking up the position of sporting director, according to the Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadhia.
The report clarified that the club is awaiting Hughes' arrival in Riyadh, the Saudi capital, on Sunday, accompanied by Craig Magee, the scouting coordinator who joined his team.
Richard's team includes the Englishman Simon Francis, the Scot Mark James Birchall, and the Irishman Harry Nicholas Arter.
Liverpool FC previously announced Richard Hughes' departure from the sporting director position due to his desire to take on a new challenge.
Hughes has extensive administrative experience, having started his career at English club Bournemouth in 2016 as sporting director, before moving to Liverpool in 2024 to succeed the German Jörg Schmadtke in the same role.
The Scot appointed the Dutch manager Arne Slot as the successor to the German Jürgen Klopp, a decision that yielded immediate results with the team winning the English Premier League title.
He also oversaw a transfer campaign involving prominent players, including Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak, and Hugo Ekitike, at a time when Liverpool invested heavily to compete at the highest levels.
