Real Madrid Club officially announced a short while ago a friendly match in preparation for the new season 2026/2027, as the Royal team continues its preparations under the leadership of the technical director, Jose Mourinho.
Real Madrid has already begun its preparation for the new season, with two friendly matches against Alcorcon, Leganes, the latter yesterday Tuesday, in which the Merengue won 4-1.
Real Madrid confirmed in a statement on the club's official website that the team will play a friendly match against Schalke on Sunday, August 16, at Veltins Arena in Germany.

The statement indicated that this match will be played in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Veltins Arena.
Real Madrid has previously played two matches against Schalke at this stadium, the first in February 2014, for the first leg of the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League, which ended with a crushing victory for the Spanish club 6-1, and the second only a year later and also in the round of 16, in which Real Madrid won 2-0.
Real Madrid will play three other friendly matches besides the match against Schalke, which are against Fiorentina, Deportivo La Coruna, and the Hungarian Ferencvaros, before starting the journey in the Spanish League season 2026/2027, with a match against Espanyol, on August 22 next.
