One of the Argentine networks launched an attack on several prominent figures by directing accusations against them to tarnish the reputation of the Argentine national football team during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including the coach of the Egyptian national team, Hossam Hassan.
The Argentine national team failed to win the World Cup title after losing the final to Spain by a goal to nil a week ago.
Argentina suffered a severe attack against it because of its playing style, which was dominated by violence and roughness throughout the tournament, as was clearly evident in the match against Egypt in the round of 16.
Egypt lost to Argentina by three goals to two, in a match in which the Pharaohs had taken a two-goal lead before conceding three goals in the dying minutes.
The Argentine network "tn" believes that ten figures played a role in a propaganda campaign and smear operation against Lionel Messi's squad, citing a quote from Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi German minister of propaganda, who said: "If you repeat a lie a thousand times, it becomes the truth."

It clarified that the ten figures selected by them are: New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, Spanish singer Rosalía, American actor Samuel Jackson, Chilean actor Pedro Pascal, American influencer Speed, Spanish presenter Ibai, Egyptian coach Hossam Hassan, Lebanese actress Mia Khalifa, and British journalist Piers Morgan.
It stated that the first attack came from Hossam Hassan, coach of the Egyptian national team, after he said that Argentina had stolen the match from the Egyptians due to the controversial refereeing incidents that occurred in the match, and the fierce attack on the French referee.
The second attack was due to statements by the mayor of New York City in which he said that Egypt had been robbed by Argentina.
The network said: "It was clear that something suspicious was being plotted against Argentina, and it all stemmed from one source: the idea that Messi would win the World Cup because an international power was supporting him—the major companies, the influential, the world's wealthy, and the international alliance."
Meanwhile, the third attack was represented by the Mexican president's attendance at the World Cup final, especially given her well-known clear hostility toward Argentina, which was preceded by a media and press campaign against the Tango team.
The fourth attack was led by actor Samuel Jackson, who said that Argentina has always been one of the most racist countries in the world, if not the most racist.
The network responded: "Argentina suffers from several problems, such as corruption, poverty, backwardness, misery, neglect, inflation, and others, but there is no room for systematic racism; Russians, Turks, Italians, Spaniards, Blacks, Whites, and Chinese have lived side by side for 200 years in the country."
Meanwhile, Mia Khalifa was the protagonist of the fifth attack, because she said she did not want to see Lionel Messi for another minute in the World Cup, and she also posted a video clip wearing the Spanish national team jersey.
Piers Morgan represented the sixth attack, as he said that the Argentines are a bunch of thugs, violent, repulsive, and a disgrace to football.
The network said: "Do we have to put up with an English journalist spreading such nonsense? 14 occupied territories, the Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Bermuda, they stole India's wealth, colonized half a continent, and controlled 22 African countries."
It also published what the Spaniard Javier Bardem said when he stated that Argentina is Milei (the head of state), and Milei supports Israel, and Israel is right-wing, Palestine is left-wing, Palestine is weak and good, therefore Argentina is bad.
Regarding that, the network said: "What naive simplification, what stupidity, what ignorance; we cannot imagine Bardem living in the Gaza Strip, criticizing Western values and capitalism, while they also enjoy the advantages of the West and capitalism—reserved leftist hypocrisy."
The network did not reveal what the others mentioned on the list did, but it seems that everyone is accused, according to its viewpoint, in the context of the attack on Argentina in the World Cup.
