Manchester United club is preparing to activate the penalty clause amounting to 16 million euros, in the contract of the left-back Jorge Salinas, player of Racing Santander.
According to Mundo Deportivo newspaper, Salinas is the first option for United's management in case the deal with Luis Hall fails during the summer transfer window.
On the other hand, Barcelona shows interest in signing the player as well, but it does not want to pay more than 4 to 6 million euros, which makes its position far from the demands of Racing Santander club.
Jorge Salinas played 34 matches this season, starting 31 of them as a starter between the Spanish Second Division and the King's Cup, and he did not participate in the King's Cup match against Barcelona.
The young player's contract extends until 2029, and he has participated with the Spanish under-19 national team in the European Championship in Wales.
