The name of Rodri, Manchester City's midfield star, is one of the most circulated names in the ongoing summer transfer market after being linked with a move to Real Madrid.
After Rodri's distinguished performance with Spain in the World Cup, Real Madrid set their sights on signing the player.
The Royal is striving to sign Manchester City's player, but no agreement has been reached yet between the two parties.
Enzo Maresca, Manchester City's new technical director, spoke in a press conference about Rodri's future, saying "At the present time, everything being circulated is just speculation".
He added: "Rodri underwent surgery last Monday, and it went successfully, and now he will get a few days of rest, then he will return to us after the end of his vacation".
He continued: "I stated in the first press conference that any coach in the world would want to sign Rodri because he is a high-class player; so he is important to me, the club, and everyone, but now he needs rest, which is very important with the start of matches that are played every three days".
