Tunisian professional Mohamed Ali Ben Ramadan, Al-Ahly player, has become close to moving to the ranks of Qatari Al-Shamal during the current summer transfer window, according to what "Yalla Koura" has learned.
The 26-year-old moved to Al-Ahly last summer from Hungarian club Ferencváros, and the Tunisian player is linked to a contract that runs until the summer of 2029.
The Tunisian professional played 36 matches with Al-Ahly in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing four assists, according to the player's stats on Transfermarkt.
Recently, Ben Ramadan has been linked with leaving Al-Ahly amid interest from Qatari club Al-Shamal, while the player's name has also been linked with a move to Saudi side Al-Hazem, according to Saudi press reports.
In contrast, Moroccan coach Hussein Ammouta, Al-Ahly's technical director, has given the green light to Al-Ahly officials for Ben Ramadan's departure this summer.
Decisive meeting
An Al-Ahly source told "Yalla Koura" today, Friday, about a meeting scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, between the quartet of Sayed Abdel Hafeez, Al-Ahly board member and football supervisor, Essam Serag, head of the contracting committee, Wael Gomaa, football director, and Hussein Ammouta.
The source—who preferred not to be named—added that the meeting is to settle the names of those leaving the team during the current summer transfer window, and also to discuss the positions targeted for reinforcement in the event of completing Ben Ramadan's departure deal.
The source clarified that there are three positions targeted for reinforcement with a foreign player, starting with signing a defender to bolster the backline, especially since Hussein Ammouta requested the necessity of reinforcing this position this summer.
As for the second position that Al-Ahly wants to reinforce, it is the midfield, especially after the departure of Malian international Aliou Dieng to Spanish side Valencia in a free transfer deal, while the third position is the right winger.
Al-Ahly's football team played two friendly matches against Cairo's Al-Nasr, with the Red team winning 5-1, then securing a 7-1 victory over Laviina.
Al-Ahly is scheduled to play a third friendly match against Petroleum Assiut on August 5, before the team travels to Spain.
Al-Ahly will hold a training camp in Spain from August 6 until the 19th of the same month, and the team will play a friendly match against Barcelona on August 19 as part of the Joan Gamper Trophy.
