Press reports revealed that the two countries of Spain and Portugal are facing a major problem related to the crisis between the International Football Association, FIFA, and the European Union, UEFA, due to Gianni Infantino's recent proposal that sparked widespread controversy.
The International Football Association seeks to exploit the rights of its tournaments and sell shares in the World Cup to private sector investors, which has caused a state of severe anger in sports circles.
Various continental federations rejected FIFA's proposal, but the strongest and most violent response came from UEFA, which announced a boycott of the World Cup unless the implementation of the mentioned idea is reversed.
The Spanish newspaper "elespanol" mentioned that the 2030 World Cup, which will be held in Spain, Portugal and Morocco, faces a real danger, due to the first two countries' affiliation with UEFA.

It explained that the timeline extending until 2030 provides a sufficient period to extinguish the flames of the war between FIFA and UEFA, but if no agreement is reached, the next edition of the World Cup is threatened.
It stated that the matter is not limited only to preventing European countries from participating in the World Cup, but the crisis here lies in the fact that Spain and Portugal are among the host countries of the World Cup, and they are part of the European Union.
By their affiliation with UEFA and their approval of its decision, Spain and Portugal will not participate in the World Cup and thus host it, although the matter is different for Morocco, which belongs to the African Union, which has not announced non-participation in the prestigious tournament.
