Egypt occupies second place on the negative list in the 2026 World Cup

The Egyptian national team occupied second place in a negative list in the FIFA World Cup, 2026 edition, the competition that officially ended on Sunday evening last.

MetLife Stadium hosted the World Cup final match between Argentina and Spain, where the latter won with a goal without reply, to be crowned with the title after an absence since 2010.

On the other hand, the Egyptian national team exited the World Cup in the round of 16 after achieving a historic accomplishment by surpassing the group stage and advancing to the knockout stages for the first time in the Pharaohs' history.

Egypt exited the World Cup after losing in the dying moments to Argentina by three goals to two.

According to the global "Squawka" network, the Egyptian national team is the second most teams to receive warnings in the World Cup, with 12 cards, all yellow.

Argentina tops that negative list with 14 cards, including 13 yellow and one red, the latter obtained in the World Cup final by Enzo Fernández.

Canada occupies third place with 11 cards, followed by Paraguay with 10 cards (9 yellow and one red), Ecuador with 9 tied with England (8 yellow and one red each).

Meanwhile, Brazil and Colombia received 8 cards, all yellow, as did Bosnia and Herzegovina (7 yellow cards and one red), while Portugal received 7 yellow cards.

As for the world champion, Spain, it ranked nineteenth in that list with 6 cards and did not receive any red card, just like France, Saudi Arabia, and Ghana.

As for the Moroccan national team, it ranks fourteenth, as Mahmoud Wahbi's squad received 7 yellow cards.

The Czech national team and the Tunisian national team are the least in terms of the number of cards in the World Cup, with one card each, yellow.
