Robert Lewandowski, the star of Chicago Fire Club, expressed his happiness at opening the scoring with his new team, explaining that he is living a different experience and needs some time to settle in America.
Chicago Fire contracted Lewandowski during the summer of the current year in a free transfer deal, following the end of the Polish national's contract with Barcelona club, at the end of last season.
Lewandowski quickly presented his credentials with Chicago Fire, as the 37-year-old scored two goals in his team's 2-1 victory over Charlotte, at dawn today in MLS competitions.

Lewandowski said in statements reported by the newspaper "Mundo Deportivo": "Playing in the American league is something new for me, I needed some time to adapt here, but I think I will improve more with each week, and now it is considered a preparation period for me, today I felt in good physical condition during the match, I knew that I would need more time to prepare physically, and I am very happy".
Regarding the difference between playing in Europe and America, he added: "It is completely different, not only because I am in the United States, but outside Europe entirely, but I am very happy for my teammates in the team, they are very open and we can play well together, and I enjoy every day I spend in Chicago."
Greg Berhalter, coach of Chicago Fire Club, praised Lewandowski's abilities after today's victory over Charlotte, saying: "He is a player at a completely different level, he is like a killer inside the penalty area."
