Hossam Hassan, the technical director of the Egyptian national team, confirmed the readiness of the Pharaohs for the match against Argentina, in the encounter that will bring the two sides together in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup.
The technical director of the Pharaohs expressed his rejection of the timing of the Egypt-Argentina match, noting that the knockout stages witness a reduction in the number of matches, which gives the organizers the opportunity to play matches at more comfortable times.
Hossam Hassan's statements
Hossam Hassan said in statements via beIN Sports: "Our full focus is on today's match, and we have a legitimate right to dream of pleasing the Egyptian people and the large crowds in Egypt and the Arab world, we will take all possible measures, but in the end football remains a game decided by details".
He added: "We hope for success from God in that match, there was not enough time after the Australia match, but the team was prepared medically and technically in the required manner, and the training load was not heavy on the players".
He concluded: "On the other hand, the match timing represents a difficulty from my point of view, as I do not understand holding a match at twelve noon, especially after reducing the number of matches with the start of the knockout stages, these matters should have been taken into account when setting the match schedule, but we are ready and will do everything in our power".
Egypt vs Argentina match date
The match between the two sides is scheduled for today, Tuesday, at seven in the evening Cairo time.
