Fabrizio Romano, the Italian journalist specializing in transfer news, revealed that Crystal Palace rejected a £50 million offer from Liverpool to sign the Senegalese player Ismaïla Sarr during the ongoing summer transfer window.
Romano clarified that Liverpool turned to signing Sarr, aged 28, after exploring the possibility of acquiring several other targets recently.
He indicated that Sarr welcomes a move to Liverpool and playing at Anfield, but Crystal Palace remains determined to keep the player in their squad.
Earlier, Crystal Palace had rejected two offers from Turkey's Galatasaray to sign Sarr, making Liverpool the latest club to receive a rejection from the English side regarding the player.
Ismaïla Sarr delivered an exceptional season with the team, scoring 28 goals across all competitions last season, equalling the club's record for the top scorer in a single Premier League era season.
Sarr also shone with the Senegal national team during the 2026 World Cup, scoring 4 goals to become the tournament's top African scorer.
