The Egyptian men's basketball team begins its journey in the fourth window of the African qualifiers for the 2027 World Cup in Qatar.
The Senegalese capital, Dakar, will host the fourth window competitions from August 27 to 30.
Egypt is placed in a group featuring Angola, Mali, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, and Senegal.
The qualifiers are conducted on a home-and-away basis, with the group winner and runner-up advancing, alongside the best third-placed team from both groups, to the 2027 World Cup finals.
Egypt enters the fourth window with 9 points accumulated during the previous phase, placing them fifth in their group.
Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, and Mali share the top spot with 11 points each, while Angola sits in fourth place with 10 points.
Egypt needs to finish in one of the top two positions to secure direct qualification to the World Cup.
Alternatively, finishing at least in third place would allow them to compete for qualification as the best third-placed team.
Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo are the teams Egypt has not faced during the previous qualifying phase.
The Pharaohs will begin their fourth-window campaign by facing Senegal next Thursday at 9:30 PM.
Egypt will meet Côte d'Ivoire in their second match next Friday at 3:30 PM, before concluding their Dakar stint against the Democratic Republic of the Congo on Sunday at 3:30 PM.
The fifth and final window is scheduled for next February, though the host nation has not yet been determined.
