The Asian Football Confederation issued a statement expressing its disappointment with the International Football Association "FIFA".
FIFA announced a proposal to establish a company "FIFA Forward Enterprise" (FFE) as an independent commercial company to manage its commercial rights and major events.
The Asian Football Confederation said in an official statement:
"We were not consulted regarding the proposal to establish the International Football Association "FIFA" an independent commercial company to manage its commercial rights and major events. We are disappointed that an issue of this importance was presented to the public before the Asian Football Confederation family was given the opportunity to study and discuss it through the approved institutional channels"
"All stakeholders must be provided with sufficient information and adequate time to evaluate the proposal from its various aspects, including administrative, legal, commercial and strategic aspects, to ensure that any decisions reflect the collective interests of the global football ecosystem and enhance confidence in the governance framework within FIFA"
"Any decisions that may reshape the commercial and financial future of football require comprehensive prior consultations with the continental and national federations and all relevant parties, before presenting them to the competent decision-making bodies. As one of FIFA's six continental confederations, we are committed to continuing to support the growth and development of world football".
