Mustafa Azzam, Secretary-General of the Football Association, announced that the association has obtained a full exemption from American taxes.
The Egyptian national team participated in the 2026 World Cup in the United States of America, Canada, and Mexico, which was won by the Spanish national team.
The Egyptian national team bid farewell to the World Cup in the round of 16 after losing to Argentina 3-2 in a match that witnessed refereeing controversy.
Azzam said in television statements to CBC channel: "The Egyptian Federation received a letter from the American tax system exempting it completely from taxes during the World Cup."
Azzam revealed the value of the prize after the tax exemption: "The Egyptian Federation will receive the full World Cup bonus of 15 million dollars, without any deductions."
In response to the reason for not announcing that, he said, "Protect your candle, it will burn you."
He added, "We provided proof that we are a non-profit organization, and that these revenues will be distributed to the clubs."
Azzam explained that the Football Association approved in its last meeting a budget to support popular clubs with 70 million pounds.
He pointed out, "Clubs that had players in the World Cup will receive compensation for the players' participation, to be disbursed next December, amounting to 7,500 dollars per day."
He continued, "Each popular club among the seven clubs in the second division (A) or the professional league will receive one million pounds, in addition to five million pounds for those who promote to the league."
He added, "Clubs in the second division will receive 300 thousand pounds each, and the third division 100 thousand pounds each."
He also revealed, "Youth and juniors prizes of 10 million pounds for the first time in the history of Egyptian football."
