Ashraf Khedr, the coach of Ismaily, revealed that he has submitted his resignation from coaching the team following the defeat against Wadi.
Khedr got into heated exchanges with Ismaily fans after losing to Wadi by two goals to one in the second round of the Professional League.
Khedr told FilGoal.com : "I have indeed submitted my resignation. There are some people who come to matches just to pick fights, even though I have never caused trouble with anyone throughout my life."
He added, "The individuals present at today's match (against Wadi) were instigated by well-known pages, and there were those whom I saw for the first time; they are not part of the club's fanbase. These pages are responsible for the club's decline, and more than one page played a role in this."
He concluded, "This is what made me lose my temper, and certainly, as a professional man, this should not have happened, especially since I lost my composure during the incident. The real Ismaily fans are above my head, and I have never had any issues with them before, and they know that."
Wadi defeated Ismaily by two goals to one, scored by Hossam Ahmed and Yasser Zahlaq, while Anwar Sakr scored Ismaily's goal from a penalty kick.
Ismaily had previously lost their first-round match to Masar by a score of 3-1.
