Jorge Jesus is close to taking over the technical leadership of the Portugal national team, succeeding the Spaniard Roberto Martinez, who was dismissed from coaching the team.
The Portugal national team bid farewell to the World Cup competitions against Spain in the round of 16 with a goal to nothing.
The Portuguese newspaper A Bola revealed that Jesus will take over the technical management of the Portugal national team until 2030.
The newspaper mentioned that Jesus, who led Al-Nasr to win the Saudi League title, will sign a four-year contract with the Portuguese Football Federation, in exchange for an annual salary of 4 million euros.
It added that the Portuguese coach will bring his usual technical staff, which includes his assistant Joao de Deus, Fabio Jesus, along with fitness coach Marcio Sampaio, who previously worked within the technical staff of Zamalek.
The technical staff will also include technical analysts Rodrigo Araujo and Gil Henriquez.
Thus, Jesus is preparing to take over the technical leadership of the Portugal national team, in a mission that extends until the end of the 2030 World Cup, if the agreement is completed officially.
