Neymar, the Brazilian national team star, hinted at retiring from playing football internationally with his country's national team, after exiting the World Cup tournament from the round of 16 at the hands of Norway, following a 2-1 loss.
Neymar said in statements to the Brazilian newspaper Globo: "I tried, I tried, it's over, I started here and ended here".
Neymar had participated as a substitute during the events of the second half, where he scored his country's only goal, from a penalty kick, in stoppage time of the match.
Neymar did not succeed in saving the Brazilian national team from the catastrophic exit at the hands of Norway, following the 2-1 loss, in the round of 16 of the World Cup.
Neymar ended his career with a tally of 80 goals and 58 decisive passes in 130 matches, and his only title with the first Brazilian national team was the 2013 Confederations Cup, as well as winning a gold medal in the 2016 Olympics, but with the under-23 team.
