The Brazilian national football team, led by its Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti, is preparing to play two friendly matches in the coming period, against Australia and India.
The Brazilian Football Confederation had renewed its confidence in Carlo Ancelotti, to continue with the team until the end of his current contract (2030), despite the disappointing performance in the 2026 World Cup.
The Brazilian national team was eliminated from the 2026 World Cup in the round of 16 after losing to Norway (1-2), and after the elimination, Neymar announced his retirement from international play, while Ancelotti expressed his deep sadness.
The Brazilian team faces Australia in two friendlies
The official account of the Brazilian national team published an official announcement about an upcoming match against Australia, after the schedule of the first team was determined during the FIFA international week in September.
The statement added: "There will be two friendly matches in Queensland against the Australian national team, on September 25 in Townsville, at Queensland Country Bank Stadium".
The Seleção continued via its account on the "X" platform: "The second match, also against Australia, will be held on the 29th of the same month, in Brisbane, at Suncorp Stadium".
These matches are part of the Queensland 2026 football matches series, and represent a rematch of the team with the Australian audience in another important international commitment.
In a related statement, the Brazilian national team clarified that it will head from Australia to India, in order to continue its international friendly agenda.

It continued: "After the friendly matches in Australia, our next destination will be India, where we will write a new unprecedented chapter in our history".
The Brazilian national team's account completed: "On October 3, the team will play its first match on Indian soil at Salt Lake Stadium, in Kolkata".
The statement noted: "It will be a special meeting with a country that hosts the largest international audience for the Brazilian national team, and for generations, it has been closely following the history of Brazilian football with great affection and passion".
The Brazilian national team concluded: "We are excited to live this moment alongside millions of Indian fans, see you in Kolkata soon".
