The Egyptian national team qualified for the round of 16 of the World Cup by defeating Australia 4-2 on penalties after the regular and extra time ended in a 1-1 draw.
Salah said during the press area after the Australia match: "There is no specific dream I am dreaming of right now, I always strive to give people hope in the possibility of reaching a great position, especially children, not only in football but in all fields."

He explained, "There is nothing different in the camp, I have grown older to be swayed by social media, 'My daughters are at marriageable age.'"
He concluded, "I do not explain anything to anyone because I know my value well, as do the players, and I try as much as possible to help my teammates, and that is what matters most to me."
Mohamed Salah won the Man of the Match award against Australia, his second time in the tournament after the New Zealand match.
Egypt's victory and qualification to the round of 16 for the first time in its history secured the Egyptian Football Association $15 million in qualification bonuses to the round of 16 from FIFA.
