The French François Letexier, referee of the Egypt vs Argentina match, canceled a goal in favor of the Pharaohs.

The Egyptian national team plays against its Argentine counterpart, in the round of 16 of the World Cup.

Mustafa Zico succeeded in adding Egypt's second goal in the 59th minute, after a wonderful pass from Mohamed Salah that left him one-on-one with Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez, scoring it into the net.

Haitham Hassan initiated the Egyptian attack with a wonderful run and dribble past the Argentine defense before passing it to Salah.

The referee canceled the goal after reviewing video technology, awarding a free kick to Argentina following a challenge by Mohamed Hani and Haitham Hassan against Lisandro Martínez.

The first half of the match ended with the Egyptian national team leading via a header from Yasser Ibrahim in the 15th minute.

The winner of that match will face the winner of the Switzerland vs Colombia encounter.

Egypt qualified for this stage after defeating Australia on penalties in the round of 32, while Argentina eliminated Cape Verde 3-2.
