President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, received the Egyptian national team this Saturday morning in the city of Alamein.
The President's reception of the players and the technical and administrative staff took place in the presence of Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Jawhar Nabil, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Hani Abu Rida, President of the Egyptian Football Association.
The President presented the national team players with the Merit Cup and honorary medals in appreciation of their heroic performance and high level during the 2026 World Cup.

His Excellency the President addressed a speech to the national team players and the technical and administrative staff, in which he expressed his pride and appreciation for what the national team presented during the tournament.
His Excellency the President praised the high values with which the team was characterized, reflecting the authenticity of the Egyptian people, stressing that what was achieved is a commendable effort and great dedication in the name of Egypt. His Excellency pointed out that sports are not only about winning and losing, but the most important thing is the respect that the national team gained from the people who appreciated what the team presented more than the win itself.
His Excellency the President also stressed that the team represented Egypt's youth in a wonderful and honorable manner and created a state of joy among citizens during its path in the World Cup thanks to the seriousness of the performance.
His Excellency the President also directed the necessity of having impartial scouts for young and emerging talents, affirming the state's readiness to support competencies and give them the opportunities they deserve, as well as supporting the national technical staff.
His Excellency the President had lunch with the Egyptian national team players and members of the technical and administrative staff at the end of the session.
The Egyptian national team had participated in the 2026 World Cup held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The Egyptian national team reached the round of 16 for the first time in its history, before being eliminated after losing to world champions Argentina by three goals to two.
