The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has announced sanctions for the 2026 World Cup final match.

Spain's national team secured a thrilling 1-0 victory over Argentina in the World Cup final.

The tournament was held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The sanctions are as follows:

Leandro Paredes, a player for the Argentine national team, has been suspended for 10 matches.

The suspensions also include Nahuel Molina, an Argentine defender, for 7 matches; Roberto Ayala, assistant coach, for 3 matches; and Thiago Almada, an Argentine player, for one match.

Pablo Gavi, a Spanish player, has been suspended for one match.

FIFA also decided to fine the Argentine Football Association $321,000 due to various violations during several matches in the tournament.

Furthermore, FIFA ordered the Argentine national team to play their next two home matches with only 50% stadium capacity for the first match, while enforcement of this restriction for the second match is suspended unless FIFA receives a new complaint regarding Argentine fans.

Ferran Torres scored Spain's goal in the 106th minute.

With this victory, Spain's national team claimed their second World Cup title in history, having previously won in 2010 against the Netherlands.

Argentina failed to defend their 2022 championship title and had to settle for the silver medal.
