Egypt defeated Australia 4-2 on penalties after the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
In the match between Egypt and Australia, the Pharaohs missed Mohanad Lasheen due to suspension after receiving a second yellow card in the tournament against Iran, in addition to missing Ahmed Fattouh and Mohamed Abdelmonem due to injury.
After qualifying for the Round of 16, Egypt regained Mohanad Lasheen in the Round of 16 after serving his suspension, along with Mohamed Abdelmonem who will be fully ready before the next Tuesday's match.
As for Ahmed Fattouh, he is likely to continue missing the next match due to injury, while the status of Karim Hafez is yet to be determined after he was injured against Australia.
Egypt will play the Round of 16 match next Tuesday against the winner between Argentina and Cape Verde.
