British press reports have revealed Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk's stance on traveling with his team on the US tour in preparation for the new season.
Liverpool had secured a 4-2 victory against Sunderland last night, in the first friendly match for coach Andoni Iraola, who replaced Arne Slot.
According to the British newspaper "Telegraph", Virgil van Dijk will resume his training next week after receiving a rest period following the Dutch national team's early exit from the World Cup.

Virgil van Dijk will not travel to the United States to join his Liverpool teammates on the team's preparatory tour for the new season, unlike Ryan Gravenberch, Florian Wirtz, and Alexander Isak.
Liverpool believes that the 35-year-old Van Dijk does not need to undertake two long flights after a busy summer, and it would be better for him to train at the Reds' training headquarters instead.
Van Dijk's fitness will be of particular importance to Liverpool in the upcoming season, especially given the limited options available at center-back along with the problems they are facing.
